Biography

Born in 1996 and raised in Alken (BE). Lennert discovered his creativity at a very young age, starting with drawing, painting and at a later age songwriting.
In 2016, he started studying photography and visual arts at Luca School of Arts in Genk (BE). 
In 2020, Lennert was awarded the ‘Wanatoe’ prize after graduating with his master’s project ‘Onkruid’.
Ever since then, Lennert has been developing his own visual style and artistic projects. He is currently working as a freelance photographer and artist, and studying a postgraduate in cultural education. Recently he started a half time job as project coordinator and youth worker for KLOOZ in Borgloon (BE).

Lennert’s art practice researches the identity and social roles of individuals and himself in our complex modern society, the human mind and body, different kinds of mental illnesses, ... But also diseases such as Alzheimer’s disease.

His research methods mainly include analogue photography, but also video, audio, installations, sculptures, and many more.
